  Getting Started
  
  
  • Read through the rest of the information on this page.
  • You will then see the list of courses located at the bottom of this page.
  • Click on your chosen module (course) and enrol.
  
  When you next login only the titles of the modules you have enrolled may display. If so, click on All Courses to see the full list.
  
  
• Layout of the modules
  
  Each module consists of:
  
  an introductory paragraph
  
  two or three sub-topics which provide information
  
  activities for each topic which explore the websites covered
  
  a quiz
  
  These sections run in a continuous sequence down the page. You will need to keep using the scroll button on your mouse, or the scroll bar at the side, until you get to the end.
  
  The menu boxes down the right hand side of each module provide access to additional relevant information.
  
  
• The Four Steps - how to get the most out of each module
  
  1. Read the information (and watch the videos if you are able to)
  
  • this introduces you to the topics and the types of websites covered
  • gives suggestions on their uses
  • describes the examples
  
  2. Try the activities
  
  • these enable you to explore the websites using the instructions provided
  • enable you to get some idea on what web 2.0 can do for you
  
  3. Complete the quiz
  
  • enables you to check if there's anything you missed
  • consolidates what you've learned
  • have some fun
  
  4. Try another module or related websites
  
  Hint on watching the videos:
  If your internet connection is limited to a few gigabytes (GB) a month be aware that viewing a lot of videos online or downloading podcasts can very quickly use up a month's worth of download time. If you've never watched videos online before, or have a dial-up or slow internet connection, see the menu box on the side for more tips.
  The videos are not a necessary part of the program but are an optional extra.
